6) Everyone likes a good action
scene. The interesting thing is, there are 2 ways to write
one.
You can use short, punchy
sentences, Your writing is swift. It reads like
action. It gets to the point directly. Each group of words
has a job of its own. The short sentences mirror the fast action.
Or, you can string together a
run-on sentcnce (or almost a run-on) that keeps on going and telling
what happens and makes it seem like it's all coming at you so fast
there isn't even time to stop for a breath! Whew!
Using one -- or both -- of these
methods, follow the prompt below.
- You are in the school cafeteria.
- The ceiling tile has come loose, and a big section of it
begins to fall. Your best friend screams, "Look out!" because you
are both sitting under that falling tile.
Write
your story.
